The Nordic Consular Cup Golf Tournament, held on September 9th, 2025, at the prestigious Royal Ontario Golf Club, was another fantastic day of golf, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Organized once again by the Finnish, Swedish, and Danish Chambers of Commerce, the event brought together golf enthusiasts for an unforgettable day on the course.
The tournament kicked off with a lively registration and a mouthwatering BBQ lunch, fueling participants with grilled favourites before they hit the greens. Perfect early fall weather set the stage for a round filled with both competitive spirit and plenty of laughter.
This year’s play featured the same exciting format, including three Hole-in-One challenges, each with a $10,000 prize up for grabs. While no one took home the jackpot, the buzz around each attempt added to the excitement throughout the day. A special highlight was at one of the holes, where golfers were introduced to the iconic Finnish Long Drink (Lonkero) — a refreshing taste of Finland that was very well received.
As the sun set, guests gathered for the cocktail hour and a delicious gourmet buffet dinner. The evening program kept the energy high with raffles, and a new addition to the fun — the Heads or Tails game, which brought plenty of laughs and lively participation.
The highlight of the night was the trophy presentation, with Team Sweden proudly claiming victory in this year’s competition. Cheers and congratulations filled the room, celebrating not just the winners, but the spirit of the Nordic community coming together once again.
