David Koivuranta, Chair of the Board of Directors of Finnish Credit Union Limited, announced today that the Board has accepted the retirement resignation of Antero Elo, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Elo has served the members of Finnish Credit Union with dedication and commitment for over 22 years. Under his leadership, the credit union has continued to provide excellent banking services and strengthened its role within the Finnish community. The Board extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Elo for his many years of service and wishes him the very best in retirement.
The Board is also pleased to announce the appointment of Lasse Silegren as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2025. Mr. Silegren brings extensive leadership experience in financial services, governance, and technology, and previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Finnish Credit Union Limited. He holds an EMBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and has held multiple senior executive roles throughout his career. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the credit union as it continues to serve members and the community with excellence.
