The Toronto Finnish School is a charitable organization that promotes Finnish language skills and culture, offering learning opportunities for all ages and a welcoming community to cherish Finnish roots and heritage. For children, the school offers Muskari music class and playgroup for children under 4, language and culture education, and hobby groups for children aged 4 to 18 years. Sessions last 2–3 hours and take place three times a month at Agricola Finnish Lutheran Church in North York, Toronto. The school also organizes celebrations, special events, and field trips, and on school days operates a parents’ social, school library, and school store where Finnish treats are available. The Adult Education Program offers a variety of online courses for adults at different language levels, from beginner to advanced, including conversation courses, as well as in-person meet-ups, workshops, and events. The school was founded in 1960 and is the oldest Finnish school outside Finland. Suomi-koulu is supported by parents, the school board, and an active community of volunteers.
